Honey & Oak Skin Studio is opening at Cornwall Medical Center this month, bringing a thoughtful, client-centered approach to skincare.
Behind the studio is Kylee Brown, a licensed esthetician who believes healthy skin starts with listening, patience, and care.
Kylee recently moved to Whatcom County from California after getting married. “My wonderful husband was living here, and after we got married, I decided to make the move,” she says.
Since settling in, she’s embraced the slower pace and outdoor lifestyle the area offers.
When she’s not in the studio, Kylee enjoys simple ways to recharge.
“A perfect day would be me and my husband going shopping, getting my matcha from Starbucks, and then ending the day in our sweats watching whatever TV show we’re into at the time.”
She also spends time reading, crocheting, coloring, and hiking. “Reading and crocheting really allow me to let my creativity flow and relax. Being in the fresh air on a hike really helps to reset my body and mind.”
That sense of calm carries directly into her work. Kylee says what she enjoys most about being an esthetician is the one-on-one connection. “I love being able to take the time with my clients and listen to what’s going on with their skin and how I can help.”
Her approach to skincare is grounded in realism and long-term health. “Healthy skin is what’s important. A lot of people want to fix whatever is going on with their skin overnight, but trying to rush that process can actually damage your skin even more.”
Facials are her favorite service, not just for the treatment itself, but for the education that comes with it.
“I’ve always enjoyed skincare, and now getting to share my knowledge with my clients and help them with their skin concerns is something I really love.”
Above all, Kylee wants Honey & Oak Skin Studio to feel safe and comfortable for everyone who walks through the door. “I always want to make sure my clients feel cared for and heard,” she says. “I want them to feel comfortable and safe.”
As Honey & Oak Skin Studio opens its doors, Kylee looks forward to meeting the community and helping clients build a healthier relationship with their skin, at a pace that actually works.
