Types of Massage
We offer several styles of massage, tailored to your individual needs.
- Therapeutic Massage – This type of care is “medically minded,” meaning the licensed therapist will focus on areas that need treatment. Typical of car accidents, work injuries, repetitive stress disorders, and many more.
- Sports Massage – This is similar to Swedish massage, but it’s geared towards people involved in sports activities to help prevent or treat injuries. It is a vigorous pre- and post-workout massage designed to improve blood flow through muscles and tissues.
- Trigger Point Massage – This massage focuses on areas of tight muscle fibers that can form in your muscles after injuries or overuse.
- Deep Massage – This massage technique uses slower, more forceful strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, commonly to help with muscle damage from injuries. Helpful for tight knots, chronic issues, and for a person that prefers increased pressure.
- Swedish Massage – This is a gentle form of massage that uses long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration and tapping to help relax and energize you.
- Intensive Wellness Massage Care (Cash Only) – An intensive wellness massage at Advanced Sports Chiropractic and Massage is perfectly tailored to your needs. Our providers are well versed in many methods of care and will utilize those best techniques to improve your health. This type of massage is not eligible for insurance billing.

Meet Our Massage Therapists
Barbara Federspiel, LMT
“I love getting to the root of a problem but, more importantly, I love being an integral part of a healthy lifestyle.”
Hello! My name is Barbara. For nearly 20 years, I have been helping clients stay healthy and active.
My massage practice has seen me working with clients recovering from injuries/surgeries, managing the demands of pregnancy and delivery, navigating chronic illnesses, and maintaining optimum sports performance.
My training and style of massage range from Swedish to Deep Tissue, Peri-natal to Myofascial Release, Reiki to Sports massage, and Craniosacral Therapy to Abdominal massage. Each session is tailored to meet your specific needs!
I love getting to the root of a problem but more importantly, I love being an integral part of a healthy lifestyle. Massage makes people happy, and I love that instant gratification.
I am a mom to two wonderful and active children. When I am not volunteering at school or for my daughters’ sports teams, I am gardening or walking/hiking/running on some amazing PNW trail.
I am excited to meet you and help you stay healthy.
Lori-Anne Trotter, LMT
“I am grateful for the opportunity to get to know our patients and to be able to share in their journey through health and wellness. I really feel blessed to be able to come to work each day and do what I am passionate about!”
My name is Lori. I am a recent graduate of Whatcom Community College Massage Therapy Program. I am originally from Canada and have been fortunate enough to spend the last 12 years experiencing Northern California, Oregon, and Washington. I am a mother of 5 and grandma of 6. When I am not at work, my first love is spending time with family, then being outdoors running, biking, hiking, camping and generally hanging out where there are mountains and water!
I have a background in Personal Training and as a Chiropractic Assistant. I have always had a passion for the human body and its functions and an equal passion for helping others. I believe in a conservative, holistic approach to health and healing through multiple modalities that provide relief, healing, and functional growth. I am a firm believer that with a little guidance in the development of body awareness, we can achieve growth in physical, emotional, and functional health.
I am excited to be here to assist you in your personal journey through health and will do everything I can to help you to function at your best!

Andrea Bump, LMT
Hello, my name is Andrea Bump and I am a licensed massage therapist with 17+ years of experience in Whatcom County. I specialize in a variety of massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point, myofascial release, cupping, and injury treatment.
I have a passion for helping people feel their best, both physically and mentally. I believe that massage therapy can have a profound impact on a person’s overall well-being, and I strive to provide each of my clients with a personalized, healing experience.
In addition to my technical expertise, I also have a warm, compassionate, and goofy personality that allows me to connect with clients on a deeper level. I am dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment where clients can relax, let go of their stresses, and leave feeling rejuvenated.
I am a true Pacific Northwest girl. When I’m not working, I enjoy playing outside with my kids, jogging, camping, playing board games with friends and family, and watching/rooting for all Washington’s awesome sports teams!
Thank you for considering me as your massage therapist. I look forward to helping you feel your best!
Oscar Plum, LMT
My name is Oscar Plum, and since graduating from the massage program at WCC, I have become a Licensed Massage Therapist. I have lived in Bellingham my whole life, which I am incredibly grateful for. I have always appreciated how beautiful this place is and have enjoyed going out and exploring. I grew up going on lots of hikes, playing soccer, and just running around outside. I try to live as active of a lifestyle as I can while still being healthy. This is where massage comes in handy!
I grew up quite lucky, having a massage therapist as a dad, receiving massages every other week since I was 10. This was vital in allowing me to be as active as I was, without experiencing a lot of the negative side effects. And that is just what I love about massages! They are incredibly effective in relieving adverse side effects of everyday life, and I love being able to provide that service to another person!
My biggest goal in massage is simply to be able to help my clients. I want every person that comes to see me to feel that our time together was positive, and helpful for their growth, whatever that growth may look like for that person. I want people to feel safe, comfortable, and heard because no growth will happen without these things.
